My Board OS supports formal motions and votes during live board sessions, governed by your organization's parliamentary mode and governance rules.
Proposing A Motion
During a live session, the chair or a director can propose a motion. Depending on your governance settings, a second may be required before debate opens.
Voting
Eligible voters (owners, administrators, and board members) can cast votes. Advisors and viewers cannot vote.
Vote outcomes follow your configured threshold:
- Simple majority — more than half of votes cast
- Supermajority — two-thirds or higher
- Consensus — unanimous agreement required
- Advisory — vote is recorded but non-binding
Audit Trail
All motions, seconds, debate, and votes are recorded in the meeting transcript and minutes for a complete audit trail.
Governance Settings
Configure motion requirements, vote thresholds, debate limits, and chair voting rights in Account → Governance. See Parliamentary Modes Explained and Governance Settings for details.
