Coach Observations and Assignments

Coach observations and accountability assignments are how you shape your clients' AI board experience.

Coach Observations

Observations are guidance statements embedded into your client's future AI board meetings. Directors consider your observations during deliberation.

Creating an observation:

  1. Open a client's Overview tab
  2. Add a new observation with your guidance text
  3. Set priority (high, normal, low)
  4. Optionally set an expiry date

Managing observations:

  • Active observations appear in the client's overview
  • Archive observations when they are no longer relevant
  • Clients see a notice that coach guidance is included but do not see the observation text directly

Accountability Assignments

Assignments are concrete goals you set for clients with accountability tracking.

Creating an assignment:

  1. Open a client's Overview tab
  2. Add an assignment with a description and target date
  3. The client sees it as an open action

Assignment statuses:

  • On track — progressing toward the target date
  • Behind schedule — target date passed or at risk
  • Completed — goal achieved

Best Practices

  • Write observations as clear directives the board can act on — e.g. "Prioritize cash flow analysis before any expansion discussion"
  • Use assignments for measurable goals with deadlines
  • Set expiry dates on observations tied to specific events
  • Review and archive stale observations regularly
  • Generate the AI client briefing before coaching calls for a full picture
